Storm Policy

Storm cancellation policy

Miramichi Transit makes all efforts to balance safety while continuing to provide an essential municipal bus service.
In the event of poor weather or poor road conditions, Miramichi Transit has the authority to adjust, delay or cancel bus service for safety reasons.

When a service interruption occurs, Miramichi Transit will notify the general public through local media (radio, online news sources), publish a notification on our website, and make a post on our Facebook page. The general public may also call our office phone at 623-2370 and a message will notify listeners if service has been cancelled.
Any decision for service interruption to bus service is based on consultation with the Miramichi City Police, other public officials, Miramichi Transit staff and drivers.
We appreciate your understanding in keeping our service safe, efficient and reliable.

  1. With regards to Bus Stops, why is there not a bus stop in Lawlor Place minhome park? The majority of the residents are over 50 and unable to walk from Old King George Hwy bus stop up the hill to the park especially in the winter. It would be a lot more convenient and useful to have a bus stop in that setting than say down at the Petro-Canada. Thanks and have a great day.
